Welcome!

I’m Kat Hoyos, a Sydney based performing artist. My skills range from acting to singing and dancing both on stage and screen. I am also an improviser, director, creative director, choreographer, writer, speaker, coach, educator…some would say ‘she’s versatile’, some would say ‘she wears many hats’. All of these things are true.

I graduated with a Bachelor of Creative Arts (Performance: Theatre and Music) from the University of Wollongong and have a Cert IV from Brent St School of Performing Arts. I have also studied at The Groundlings in Los Angeles and Improv Theatre Sydney (ITS).

I love to continuously further my studies and know there is never a day where you can’t learn something new. This has led me to study with the likes of Scott Sedita (USA), Anthony Brandon Wong (AUSTRALIA), Margie Haber (USA), Joshua Bitton (USA), Lisa Robertson (USA and AUSTRALIA) and many more.

I am also a proud member of the MEAA

I value authenticity, exploring vulnerability and humour. I believe that has shaped my love of telling stories on stage and screen. I enjoy the experience of moving around the different areas of my career. In turn, I also offer industry based workshops and bespoke programs to inspire the next generation or artists which have been delivered in various performing arts institutions and schools across Australia.

Whether that be on stage or offstage, in front of the camera or behind the camera, I love to be anywhere where there is a good story and an opportunity to play creatively.
