Welcome!

I’m Kat Hoyos, a Sydney based performer who can act, sing and dance. My friends describe me as a good listener who gives great advice. They also say I’m pretty funny without even realising it! I’d describe myself as passionately curious and easy going with a dash of silly.

My creative purpose was realised while I studied the performing arts full time for a number of years. Even when I wasn’t studying and was just working a ‘regular job’, I could never stop thinking about how much I wanted to explore my creativity instead.

I value authenticity and people who are willing to be vulnerable. I believe that has shaped my love of telling stories on stage and screen. I love moving around the different areas of my career. Whether that be on stage or offstage, in front of the camera or behind the camera, I love to be anywhere there is a good story!

I love a good laugh, a delicious meal, a cheeky game of Mario Kart (I’m a pro at old school video games) and surrounding myself with awesome friends and the people I love.

As well as my performance career, I’m available as a industry speaker, coach (singing, dancing, acting) and judge for events.

I wear many hats. I also like wearing many hats.

So, if you want to reach out, please do. Let’s chat!

Check out: Amazing Grace Channel 9

A series about women…
who always deliver.

Amazing Grace, Nine’s new drama series about life’s most surprising and precious moments, features a stellar cast including Kate Jenkinson (Doctor Doctor, Wentworth, Offspring), Sigrid Thornton (Seachange, Wentworth), Catherine Van Davies (Hungry Ghosts, The Letdown, True Story with Hamish & Andy), Alexandra Jensen (Frayed, My Life is Murder, The Letdown) and Kat Hoyos (Here Come the Habibs!).

Amazing Grace is centred on midwife Grace ( Kate Jenkinson ) and her passionate colleagues at an unconventional birth centre attached to a major city hospital. A fierce advocate for her pregnant mothers-to-be, Grace’s dubious work/life balance is about to get even more chaotic when a new arrival at the birth centre changes her life forever.

The show made it’s premiere on Channel 9. Watch the series on 9now and Stan.

“Like the constant stream of births – all of them predictable in their unpredictability – the drama just keeps coming, and Grace just keeps rolling with it. Or under it. Or around it. There’s lots of meat here for the fine cast to work with, with the secondary roles (Catherine Van-Davies as fellow midwife Laney, Kat Hoyos as junior midwife Sasha, Ben O’Toole as the male trainee Max, and Alex Dimitriades as Sophia’s adoptive father, Kirk) all pretty well developed.”
