LoveMusik at Belvoir with Neglected Musicals 🧠 A LoveMusik at Belvoir with Neglected Musicals 🧠

A crazy week from one day’s rehearsal to performing it to packed audiences every night.

A lot of the audience were big fans of Kurt’s music…how I know this? The gasp, the mmm, the tapping of their feet. The smile of nostalgia on their faces. It’s a beautiful thing what theatre can do for humanity.

Let’s not forget that given the state of our industry at the moment. ❤️

Big thank you to @neglectedmusicals @michelleguthrie for having me again.

Thank you to our creatives for allowing us to play!

More BTS! Today our show is out on Stan. A collec More BTS! Today our show is out on Stan.

A collection of people, experiences, and memories.

The photos of the interiors are just a small peek into the detail and effort our art department put into bringing everything to life. The amount of information they had to keep track of with time-specific props, plus continuity across all the little bits and pieces, was incredible. Props to them. Ha.

For my gun handling, I had to learn how to reload and position my hands correctly. It was tricky because I had a structure holding the gun, which changed the weight distribution (and the gun was already pretty heavy). Depending on the gun, the distance my thumb had to travel to reload was sometimes easier and sometimes harder. I was also doing my best to aim properly each time and not go cray cray with it. Millie should know how to aim!

You can’t see it, but I’m also wearing a skirt, stockings, and hard shoes. How is someone supposed to feel like they can chase a suspect in that? Well, they can’t. Many women were expected to stay in administrative roles because “the men were the ones who did the shooting.” Instead, they were often sent to primary schools to talk about safety. The women weren’t exactly thrilled about that. Thank goodness they wear pants now and get to do so much more.

I also experienced getting a cast made for the first time. More on that later…

Enjoy! I’d love to hear what you think of the show. 📺📡

So many people to credit! There has been a huge amount of talent, creativity, and dedication poured into making this story a visual one. Let’s all blame Ben Jenkins to start with, though, because he created this hugely epic world. He is next-level talented.

I wanted to share some BTS from my journey. Some of it includes moments from my prep (including my cats demanding attention — I obliged to their demands). I was lucky enough to score some one-on-one gun training with an ex-cop (thanks, Mark!), who was working in the ’80s and had wonderful stories to share, especially around women in the workforce. He was the kind of guy who gave women opportunities to level up. Thanks for the education. What a legend.

I also spent time hearing from women in the police force. A big thank you to Sandra Nicholson for sharing her experience. She was an influence in the ‘80s and still uses her voice to help women in the police force. And thank you to Hanna, who shared her experience of being a female cop in recent years. PS: Did you know that back then it was called the police “service” and now it’s the police “force”? Interesting!

It’s always an exciting time meeting most of the cast at the table read. Gosh, we were spoilt — we even had a show-and-tell. It was so exciting! Drawings, actual materials for certain set designs, photos… it was immersive. It felt very theatrical and gave us a good taste of what was to come.

Every time I visited HQ, there was more unfolding — story development, costume reveals, prop discoveries. Everyone was finding the world, and it was a collaborative union of uncertainty and mystery.

As we get ready for all episodes to drop at once on Wednesday night, I hope you’re as excited as we are. The makeup team did an exceptional job on so many things (we’ll find out later). The special FX team — WOW! The music… honestly, music can make or break a scene, and we were gifted with magic there.

Anyway, I’ll stop rambling, but I’ll post more throughout the week.

Enjoy 👻 📡

Premieres June 24 only on @stanaustralia 📡
Thank you @sydfilmfest for having us. Our tv show Thank you @sydfilmfest for having us. Our tv show “The Killings At Parrish Station” made its worldwide premiere on a cinema screen (which our lovely director @danielnettheim mentioned will be the only time it will be seen on a screen this big - good point).

It was pretty special to experience a show having a premiere like this so am a lucky gal.

A wonderful team lead by @stanaustralia @helium_pictures championing a story like this. @bencjenkins- the creator mastermind. And @danielnettheim bringing the vision to life. They were the dynamic duo!

Speaking of dynamic duo - @dorisyounane and I have the honour of bringing “Millie” to life in two different timelines. Working with Doris on creating this character was a fun thing to do. not something you get to do often creating a character with another actor. Another lucky moment.

Big shout out to @anoushazarkeshk for bringing this incredible cast together. Too many names to mention. This is only a small taste of the many others who were part of this project. Anousha is a gun at what she does 💯 also, local talent, local production. YES. 👏

Thank you @meissnermgt for your ongoing support ☺️

We premiere June 24 on Stan. All eps drop at once. I expect a binge… 📺🎞️

With a Hollywood theme in mind for song choices - I couldn’t help but glam up and have fun with it at the same time! ❤️

Congratulations on what was a successful and memorable night! 🎟️🥳

So very excited. We have a world premiere at @sy So very excited.

We have a world premiere at @sydfilmfest 🎟️

There’s a fantastic cast and crew of creatives who worked passionately, blood and bone 🦴 🩸 (no subtext there at all towards what this is about) on this tv series. I think it’s going to push the envelope of what Australian drama can create. I mean, it’s been labelled as a “comic horror” so you tell me when was the last time we made that?

I’m really stoked to be part of this bringing younger Millie to life with @dorisyounane taking the reins of present day Millie. What a force 💪🏽

There’s more to come. Stay tuned. 👋🏽

Big shout out to @bencjenkins for creating this monstrosity (in a good way) 🔭🔮🪦 and to @danielnettheim for fully supporting his monster vision by directing it and creating a world for us to play in.

I’m performing tomorrow night with this fun show “ITS flipping The Script”

Saturday, 02 May 2026 07:00 PM

For some, it sounds like a delicious challenge. For others, a nightmare.

An actor and an improviser meet for the first time on stage. The actor has learned their lines for a classic scene from theatre history. The improviser has no idea what scene they’re about to be dropped in, and has to make up their half of the dialogue. Can the two of them make it work?

Featuring stars of Australian stage and screen, and Sydney’s top improvisers, this is a wild experiment not to be missed!

With thanks to our friends at ‘And Scene’ in New York

Saturday 2 May: Alex Lee (Tonight at the Museum), Bridie Connell (Whose Line Is It Anyway? Australia), Chrissy Mae Valentine (NCIS: Sydney), Concetta Caristo (Taskmaster Australia), Emma Leonard (800 Words, Home & Away), John Marc Desengano (Aunty Donna’s Coffee Cafe), Kat Hoyos (Here Come the Habibs, Amazing Grace), Kimie Tsukakoshi (The Bureau of Magical Things)

Hosted by Jim Fishwick with Tyler Dias
