Thank you @sydfilmfest for having us. Our tv show Thank you @sydfilmfest for having us. Our tv show “The Killings At Parrish Station” made its worldwide premiere on a cinema screen (which our lovely director @danielnettheim mentioned will be the only time it will be seen on a screen this big - good point). It was pretty special to experience a show having a premiere like this so am a lucky gal. A wonderful team lead by @stanaustralia @helium_pictures championing a story like this. @bencjenkins- the creator mastermind. And @danielnettheim bringing the vision to life. They were the dynamic duo! Speaking of dynamic duo - @dorisyounane and I have the honour of bringing “Millie” to life in two different timelines. Working with Doris on creating this character was a fun thing to do. not something you get to do often creating a character with another actor. Another lucky moment. Big shout out to @anoushazarkeshk for bringing this incredible cast together. Too many names to mention. This is only a small taste of the many others who were part of this project. Anousha is a gun at what she does 💯 also, local talent, local production. YES. 👏 Thank you @meissnermgt for your ongoing support ☺️ We premiere June 24 on Stan. All eps drop at once. We have a world premiere at @sydfilmfest 🎟️ There’s a fantastic cast and crew of creatives who worked passionately, blood and bone 🦴 🩸 (no subtext there at all towards what this is about) on this tv series. I think it’s going to push the envelope of what Australian drama can create. I mean, it’s been labelled as a “comic horror” so you tell me when was the last time we made that? I’m really stoked to be part of this bringing younger Millie to life with @dorisyounane taking the reins of present day Millie. What a force 💪🏽 There’s more to come. For others, a nightmare. An actor and an improviser meet for the first time on stage. The actor has learned their lines for a classic scene from theatre history. The improviser has no idea what scene they’re about to be dropped in, and has to make up their half of the dialogue. Can the two of them make it work? Featuring stars of Australian stage and screen, and Sydney’s top improvisers, this is a wild experiment not to be missed! Alfie Byrne, a middle-aged bachelor living a quiet life with his spinster sister, works as a bus conductor by day and by night as a amateur theatre impresario dedicated to the plays of his hero, Oscar Wilde. A modest man, a quiet man, Alfie has always found his greatest satisfaction as the artistic director of his theatrical group housed in the local church. When Alfie declares that, instead of their usual production of The Importance of Being Earnest, the troupe will next present Wilde’s provocative Salome, the church authorities balk at the play’s “immodest dancing” and his safe little world begins to crumble. After years of hiding, Alfie finally realises he must take his place in the world. As Wilde declared, “The only way to get rid of temptation is to yield to it.” First performed Off Broadway in 2002. Neglected Musicals is a theatre initiative dedicated to presenting musical theatre that has never (or rarely) been seen in Australia. 📸 BTS Doing a photoshoot requires planning and o 📸 BTS Doing a photoshoot requires planning and organisation! Maria (the photographer) asked me what my intention was for the shoot. It had been a while since I’d played in front of the camera, so I had a few ideas. We had a vision board to work from, but we were always open to moving and playing — which we did anyway. A shoot is always so much better when there’s a team involved. As an artist, we carry so much of the load, so when there’s an opportunity to bring great people together, why not? Bringing all these talented women together in person (and interstate) isn’t easy, but it happened last minute. We had originally planned this date, but then I had a gig, so we left the next date as TBC. Then that gig fell through at the last minute, so it was suddenly all systems go — is everyone available now? Just my luck, it was a yes. 🙂‍↔️ At the heart of it, we were all being creative, which I love.
